How to Make an Important Decision
I used to be terrified of making big changes because I would always wonder if my decision was the “right” choice.
I was so paralyzed by this fear that I ended up prolonging the decision-making process, making myself miserable. Or even worse, I would dabble in multiple endeavors at once and scatter my attention just because I was scared of choosing the wrong thing.
But if I had just chosen something sooner, I could have gained valuable life experience no matter the outcome.
Say it’s movie night, and you’re trying to pick a movie to watch on Netflix. There are so many options. Overwhelmed, you spend 30 minutes just scrolling through the selection.
Had you just chosen a movie, you could have watched some of it and decided if you wanted to continue watching. Because whether you liked what you saw or not, it will give you information and help you either confirm or change your decision.
Similarly, when we reorient our life path, the best way to make a decision is to simply choose and try. You will never feel ready for something new, because it is out of your comfort zone.
It’s a catch-22: you don’t feel ready, so you don’t do it. But since you don’t do it, you will never gain the experience that will help you feel…
