Recently, I had been feeling really stagnant. I was waking up later, spending longer periods of time on my phone, essentially lived in bed, and felt lethargic and dissatisfied with my life situation overall.

I was stuck in a rut, and I know I can’t be alone in this feeling. Whether you’re looking for a complete mindset change or just a slightly new perspective, these 3 strategies have never failed to help me out of an unmotivated period.

1. Observe the story you’re telling yourself.

Our minds will respond to what we ask it.

For example, if you ask yourself: “Why am I so ugly?”, your mind will do its job and respond with every idiosyncrasy you can conjure up.

However, if you ask yourself: “What are my 3 favorite traits about myself?”, your brain will also diligently answer this question.

Consider two variations of people trying to make money.

Person 1 is constantly asking themselves: “Why can’t I make more money?”
